The hotel’s name refers to when the then forest manager of the Kemi Company, Hugo Richard Sandberg, ordered two steam locomotives on tracks from America for the Nuortti wilderness logging. They transported saw logs from the areas behind the watershed to be floated in the Kemijoki River. In addition to the locomotives, there were about 400 men and 100 horses at work. The Nuortti machine logging operated from 1913–1916 and was also called the Samperi sawmill.
And just a few years after the logging ended, a great machine wheel was built in a small Italian village. The rest is history…
General:
-rally fee 20.00e. Payment on site and preferably by card.
-Friday evening soup with side dishes 18.00e/person
-Saturday dinner from a buffet 30.00e/person
-There is no shared lunch, but you can order food from the restaurant by ordering from the menu
-The grill hut in the courtyard is at our use from Friday to Sunday
– The restaurant is open from breakfast until late at night
-Friday evening music is provided by Blues Rooster from Rovaniemi!

Campers: Tent space is free. Breakfast 12e/person. Showers and toilets are located in the hotel’s sauna facilities

2 person room 77.60€/day
3 person room 95.20€/day(includes 2 persons + 1 additional person in the loft)

6-person cottage 204€/day

There is one small food market and one gas station in Savukoski village. Alcohol vendors called ALKO are in Salla, Kemijärvi, Rovaniemi and Sodankylä.
Samperin Savotta is taking reservations from 31.1.2025 onwards. Payments on site.
